Turkish Army soldiers attacked members of Free Art Initiative who attempted to form a human chain in Turkey’s border town Suruç, wounding 4 activist and killing 1 woman activist.
According to Firat News Agency (ANF), the attack took place yesterday in the form of tear gas and bullets, leaving 4 activists wounded.
Activist Kader Ortakaya (28), on the other hand, died after being shot in the head. While ANF claimed she was shot as she was crossing to Kobane, the army officials didn’t release any statement concerning the issue.

Representing the activists, Ferhat Tunç said they weren’t even allowed to make a press statement.
During Tunç’s speech, soldiers also intervened the group with gas bombs.
Ali Baran, Adil Aslan, Naif Aslan and Mustafa Kılıç (75) were hospitalized. Several activists were affected by the gas and later on admitted to hospitals as well. (YY/BM)
